The Tillery Tradition Country Club already boasts a maturity that belies its infancy; the result of an ambitious routing through dense hardwood forests on the halcyonic western edge of the Uwharrie Mountains. The course has drawn a good deal of praise and has been voted on the "Top 100 Courses in North Carolina," and was named one of the three "Best New Courses" in 2002 by North Carolina Magazine.

Hole #1 - Par 4

The first hole is a slight dog leg left. Tee shot placement is critical and is rewarded with an easy shot into the first green.

Hole #2 - Par 5

The second hole is a tight par 5. Golfers tend to favor the right to avoid traps and thick woods on the left. The layout opens up around the green.

Hole #3 - Par 4

Don't let the open spaces fool you. High grasses on the right and water on the left make driving placement more important than yardage. A well placed drive brings a short approach to an elevated green.

Hole #4 - Par 3

This par three crosses a creek valley to a green that is guarded by deep bunkers on the right.

Hole #5 - Par 4

This is another tight par four guarded by trees on the right and water on the left.

Hole #6 - Par 4

A nice view from the tees lets you see the entire hole. Not a very tight hole, but the fairway bunker does come into play. Favor the right side of the green on your approach, for anything right will feed down to the center of this fairly large green.

Hole #7 - Par 5

This downhill par 4 requires a solid left to right tee shot which will get plenty of roll. Your approach will be from a downhill lie to a small two-tiered green guarded by a big bunker on the left. Par is a good score here.

Hole #8 - Par 3

Picturesque! This downhill par 3 will play shorter than the yardage indicates. Favor the left side of the green off the tee, as the slope will help move the ball back toward the middle of this large green.

Hole #9 - Par 5 (Par 4 from Red tees)

A great birdie opportunity. Reachable in two, a good tee shot will reach the top of the hill and give you a nice view of the green. This well guarded green will hold a good shot and give you a chance for a birdie or possibly an eagle.

Hole #10 - Par 5

Pull out the big stick and bust it!! A very generous fairway has no bunkers until you get within 100 yards of the green. Be careful on you second shot: left is “no-mans land”. This green is tiered front to back. Take advantage of a middle pin position, as most shots will filter to the center of the green.

Hole #11 - Par 4

A solid par 4 with trouble down the left side. The longer you hit it, the tighter it gets. 3-wood is not a bad choice off the tee. Your approach shot should hit the large putting surface with a very gentle slope. Short and left is not good.

Hole #12 - Par 3

The first of four very challenging holes in a row. A fantastic par 3 where your club selection could change by 3 clubs depending on the pin position. A back pin is most difficult. Favor being long as the mounding right and long could kick the ball back on the green.

Hole #13 - Par 4

The shape of this hole will entice the long hitter to cut the corner. However, there is plenty of room down the left side for a safer tee shot. A large elevated green will accept a good shot, but make sure you have enough club.

Hole #14 - Par 4

A solid tee shot is needed here to reach the top of the hill in the fairway to get a good look at this slightly elevated and very undulating green. No bunkers needed on this #1 handicap hole. Par is a great score here.

Hole #15 - Par 4

Plenty of room off the tee. Another good drive needed here to view the green on your approach. This well guarded green is wide, but not very deep, putting a premium on club selection. Par is a very good score on this hole.

Hole #16 - Par 4

A short par 4, however the severe right to left lay of the land makes this hole play tougher than it looks. Consider laying back off the tee to have a more level stance for your approach. This green slopes dramatically from the right to left with a ridge running across the middle.

Hole #17 - Par 3

A good birdie opportunity. This short par 3 plays slightly downhill and offers plenty of pin positions on a large, sloping green. A back pin can be dangerous if you go long and right.

Hole # 18

Eagles abound here. Really! Look for the bald eagle that resides here. Big hitters can cut the corner and attack the green on their 2nd shot; however, danger lurks to the right from 90 yards in. Most will lay up to 110 yards out for an approach to a large left-to-right sloping green. A back pin position will get your blood pumping.
